Thank God, Gearbox Is “Exploring” FOV Sliders For Borderlands 4 On Console After Backlash
Gearbox is already trying to tackle some of Borderlands 4’s biggest drawbacks, as it’s confirmed FOV sliders are being “explored” for console players and that general PC stability is being improved.
Borderlands 4 launched just a few days ago and, by most accounts, it’s a return to form for the series after the divisive Borderlands 3. While most players agree that the series has never felt better to play than in the fourth game, there have been a few notable complaints that have cropped up.
For console players, the biggest issue that most have had with the game is that there’s currently not a field of view slider at all, leaving many feeling like they’re playing with a “magnifying glass”. On PC, the main problem is that Borderlands 4 is simply too taxing for a lot of rigs, leading to some poor performance. Those issues seem like they’re already being fixed.
Don't Worry, An FOV Slider Is Coming To Borderlands 4 On PS5 And Xbox Series
PC Players Should Already Have Less Issues Running The Game
Earlier today, the official Borderlands Twitter account shared some surprising updates for Borderlands 4 players on both console and PC. Let’s start off with the big one, as Gearbox confirmed that it’s heard our “feedback” about the lack of FOV sliders on console. The tweet confirms that the team is “exploring” how to bring these over to the Xbox Series and PS5 versions of the game.
While that sadly makes it sound like we’re still a ways off from getting FOV sliders for the console versions of Borderlands 4, it does at least confirm that Gearbox is looking into it and likely to implement it in the future. If it’s a big enough issue for you, like it seemingly is for most players, it might be worth holding off until it gets added.
If you’re one of the players who find that the lack of a mini-map is Borderlands 4’s biggest issue, Gearbox sadly didn’t have anything to say about that. It’s clearly listening, though, so time will tell.
The good news doesn’t end there, though. In a separate tweet, Gearbox revealed that it has just released an update for PC players that aims to “help improve stability for a wide range of PC”. Right now, it’s not really clear how much that update has done since it’s only just gone live today, but it’s a good sign considering PC performance was one of the game’s biggest problems.
