Axemaul Location & Legendary Drops in Borderlands 4

Axemaul lurks within an Abandoned Auger Mine, but reaching it isn’t going to be as simple as the other Auger Mines scattered throughout Kairos. The Toil of Spoiling Vis is the location that players seek, as Axemaul has some pretty interesting Legendary loot worth farming for. Check out the guide below to find the exact location of this Auger Mine, when you can access it, and how you can safely navigate through the caves to find and kill Axemaul to discover what Legendary drops he holds dear.

How to Find Axemaul and The Toil of Spoiling Vis in Borderlands 4

Axemaul is found within the Abandoned Auger Mine located in the Carcadia District of Dominion, known as the Toils of Spoiling Vis. Players will only be able to get to the Toil of Spoiling Vis once they have completed The Falling Wall, a Main Mission.

Once players have access to Dominion, return to the Final Defiance Fast Travel Station in the Carcadia District, and head down the slope into Dominion. Now, take an immediate left and follow the path to reach the Mine: The Toil of Spoiling Vis. Players can then jump to the bottom of the elevator shaft to begin their journey through the Auger Mine to find Axemual.

How to Get Through the Toil of Spoiling Vis in Borderlands 4

Once you’ve dropped down the elevator shaft in the Toil of Spoiling Vis, you’re going to want to head north until you come across a cave opening. Follow through this route and then drop down to find an abandoned Ripper drill, and behind that, a Phase portal. Enter the Phase portal with your grapple hook, and then jump across the platforms to reach a room filled with Vending Machines. This is the room before fighting Axemaul, so be sure to stock up on ammo, and remember to bring Corrosive/Cryo and Incendiary weapons!

How to Beat Axemaul (& Legendary Drops) in Borderlands 4

Legendary

Type

Special Effect

Bod

Shotgun

All-Arounder – Counts as a Shotgun, an Assault Rifle, a Sniper Rifle, a Pistol, and an SMG.

Buzz Axe

Throwing Knife

Makeshift

Kill Spring

Repkit

Blood Siphon – On kill, converts 100% of any excess Damage into Healing Orbs that seek out nearby allies

Buzz Axe and Bod are both worth farming, especially since Buzz Axe is a powerful Throwing Knife, and Bod provides players with an all-in-one weapon, meaning it counts for Challenges that require an SMG/Shotgun/Pistol/Assault Rifle/Sniper!

Axemaul might look intimidating, but he’s a fairly standard boss to kill. Axemaul is an oversized Mangler who carries an axe within his mouth. At a distance, Axemaul will use the axe like a chain whip to attack you from range, and he will also leap towards you and swing the axe wildly, dealing Incendiary damage. The best tactic against Axemaul is to be overly aggressive, shooting at him constantly while maintaining distance with Ordnance and elemental weapons to tick away at his health while he tries to close the distance.

As for Axemaul’s weaknesses, players will want Corrosive/Cryo weapons for his first health bar, which is Armor. Then, switch to Incendiary, as Axemaul’s second health bar is Flesh. The Buzz Axe Grenade Ordnance is part of Axemaul’s Legendary loot drops, so continue to farm Axemaul if this is the weapon you seek.
